In monitoring the weather and getting an update this morning from Story County Emergency Management regarding the timeliness of the ice storm that will be impacting our area, the decision has been made to cancel games for Saturday, December 14.

Unfortunately, the league will be unable to coordinate any make-up games due to varying facility schedules.  If coaches would wish to coordinate a make-up, the community contact of the team they are playing would need to be contacted directly to get coach phone/email along with proper coordination of facility availability, etc.

As a reminder, I watch the weather regularly and won't make any decisions regarding game cancellations, etc. until the most accurate information is available, which is typically the day before a possible major event.  At that time a decision will be made that will be in the best interest of the entire league.

CIRL Basketball is committed to teaching the fundamentals of basketball to all participants, in all communities, that participate in the program through coach volunteers.  Our goal is to teach good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and the importance of physical fitness within the scope of our mission "to allow all youth the opportunity to participate in an organized league offering various sports where fundamentals are a focus and organized game play is both fair and competitive".
